River Shack Bus Café

The River Shack Bus Cafe is up there with one of the best places that I’ve been in the local area to get food. A breath of fresh air. We’ve been three times and consistently been satisfied with the impressive quality of food for the price it costs, the service is great, orders taken promptly and not a long wait for your food either from both taking out and sitting in. What makes it better is the food isn’t greasy either, it tastes clean, is seasoned well and the portions are generous! The bus itself has a cosy nice interior with plenty of seating, tables and chairs outside too.

This double-decker bus café is a fun and memorable place to grab a bite! We had an amazing lunch here and were genuinely impressed by the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We tried the truffle and parmesan chips, Korean chicken burger, venison burger, and corn on the cob - every single dish was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. We especially recommend their juicy, delightfully messy burgers, bursting with flavour and pure indulgence! The seating inside the bus is cozy, charming, and welcoming - perfect for a relaxed meal with a bit of character. There’s also outdoor seating available, which is ideal on a sunny day and adds to the laid-back, friendly vibe of the place. On top of all that, the service was fantastic - friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The staff made us feel right at home, which added so much to the experience. Overall, this spot is a great blend of delicious food, charming atmosphere, and top-notch hospitality. Definitely worth a visit!

Unreal little find this afternoon. The double decker is a cool touch and food was amazing ! We had the Spanish breakfast wrap, butcher beef burger, hot piripiri chips & fried corn cobs. The coffee was really lovely too! Quick service, lovely staff and very reasonable prices. Thank you for an amazing experience we will definitely be back.

We had family brunch there today and it was fantastic!! The service was great.. my grandson Riley LOVED the bus… and toys provided.. The welcome was amazing because they could see how excited he was and came out to meet him! The bus was clean and exciting!! we sat upstairs and it was very roomy and comfortable for 4 adults and a toddler. The coffee is smooth and delicious. The chicken shawarma is amazing. Very big portions. The Truffle/ Parmesan Fries are the best we’ve ever tasted… We do family brunch every 3 weeks… we are not going anywhere else now!! Thank you so much for the kindness and amazing hospitality!! Well done!!

We were looking for a restaurant and we found this one by chance, and it was the best choice we made. The food was excellent, the service was quick and very welcoming.

A truly wonderful and surely unique concept. The bus is super cozy and furnished with great attention to detail. The surroundings are very quiet and pleasant. You can basically park anywhere. The food is very tasty, full of flavor, and well-portioned. We will definitely come back.

A great wee hidden gem in the Stratheven estate. Love the quirky concept of the bus, which is nicely decorated and fun to visit. Service is friendly and welcoming but the star of the show is definitely the food. Fresh, top quality ingredients, well constructed, it really is a treat. Can’t wait to try the dinner rice bowls!
